DREAM DICTIONARY : This dream dictionary is based upon hundreds of real dreams and has been meticulously researched. However, the only person who can truly interpret the cause of a dream is the dreamer. Use the questions and quotes on this page to help you find out what has triggered your dream.
BABY-SITTING : Looking after a baby is an important responsibility and
also very time consuming. It generally has two meanings. In a positive sense
it may refer to your wish to look after a vulnerable person who cannot cope

which have been dumped on you.

Below you will see a series of quotes. Each quote represents the meaning of
a particular dream(these are all dreams where the meaning is understood totally).
For instance one dream may have meant that the dreamer was having trouble at
work. In that case the quote may simply be "There is a bad atmosphere at work".
Some information is included about which dream symbols were included in the
dream(within the squares brackets). Often a sample dream is included which shows
you how the dream interpretation was reached.

ESSAY : What is the symbolic meaning of baby-sitting in dreams?
Baby-sitting has two meanings in dreams. Firstly it can link to a person
whom you feel strongly for who you want to protect. E.g.
"My sister is so vulnerable during all these arguments. She is caught up
in the middle of my mother and fathers divorce."[Dream symbol - babyish]
"I am so concerned about my grandmother. This bad weather leaves her VULNERABLE"[Dream
symbol - baby-sit]
In some cases they link to us realising we have responsibilities. E.g.
"I tried to help my sister as much as I can. I supported her in court.
Its so difficult and sometimes I fear that I have failed her"[Dream symbol
- looking after baby]
"I had to make a stand but I didnt want to go too far as I have a child
to LOOK AFTER. I just wanted a bit of respect. At the end of the day I was not
going to walk out"[Dream symbol - baby]
In some cases a baby that just turns up may link to a problem which you feel
has been dumped on you. A responsibility that you do not want. E.g.
"She just turned up and just DUMPED her problems on me"[Dream symbol
- baby suddenly appears]
"I am just begining to realise that teaching is maybe not right for me.
" [Dream symbol - baby dumped at workplace]
Babies are very precious and we must take great care with them. They are
very important and need to be looked after. E.g.
"My girlfriend always likes to take great care over getting ready. It drives
me insane yet I know its very important to her."[Dream symbol - Queen asks
soldier to look after baby]
Babsitting may link to our thoughts about childcare in general or towards someone who has child care commitments. E.g.
"I was thinking yesterday how she could do so much more with this project we are involved in together. Then I realised that she does have her children to look after. It must limit her."[Dream symbol - Babysitting two children]

SAMPLE DREAM
----------------------------------------
THE DREAM - I was with two children that I used to babysit. There was a woman in the dream who I know well. I had just found out that she had moved house. I asked the children where she had moved too. They said something that I could not understand. She had moved to *** street.
THE REALITY The dreamer was involved in a joint project with the woman who appeared in the dream. The previous day he had been thinking how she could do so much more with this project. But he was also realising that she had children and so her time was limited because of that. That previous day he had tried to catch her to talk to her but she had not turned up. He also realised that there was a lot more that he could do.
THE INTERPRETATION Dreams often link to new thoughts and insights into life in general. Try looking at new thoughts in your head and seeing how the dream plays out these thoughts. The previous day the dreamer had been thinking about the woman in the dream. Partly he was thinking how she could really put a lot more effort into a joint project that they were involved in. Yet he also realised that she was unable to put as much energy and time into this project on account of her committment to her children. The dreanm clearly does link to this thought.
In the dream its the dreamer who has the commitment to the children. He is looking after two children. The dream therefor portrays the conceptual thought "If I had to look after children then things would not be as easy". He is therefore placing himself in her position.
In the dream the woman has moved. He therefor had fallen out of touch with her. In real life he had tried to meet her but she was not where she was usually. The dream kind of plays out this thought.
So the dream tocuhes on some new conceptual insights into the woman in the dream. Dreams do this. They link to new ideas and insights.
Symbolic Meanings
BABYSIT : "In the dream its the dreamer who has a commitment to children. Forcing him to recognise the commitment the woman has towards her own children."
DREAM MEANING The dream captures the following feeling within the dreamer
- "Yesterday I was thinking how she really doesnt put the effort into this project. But Then I kind of realised that she does have children. It does really limit what you can do."
Try to see how the symbolic meanings weave together to form a conceptual insight into the dreamers thoughts about the woman in the dream
